RSP holding policy brainstorming on disaster risk reduction and management



KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is organizing a national-level policy brainstorming program today focusing on disaster risk reduction and disaster management.

According to General Secretary Bhupdev Shah, the program will discuss various dimensions of disaster preparedness, response and long-term management under the party’s Party–Parliament–Government Coordination Committee.

The session, which begins at 3 pm, will feature Dr. Gaurab Sagar Dawadi, representative of the Disaster Resilience Thematic Major Technical Assistance and Strategic Learning Project, as the keynote speaker.

The interaction will also include presentations and experience-sharing from officials and experts including Director General of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology Dr. Archana Shrestha, Chairperson of Helambu Rural Municipality Nima Gyaljen Sherpa, Senior Superintendent of Armed Police Rajesh Upreti, Representative of the Women’s Forum for Disaster Risk Reduction and Humanitarian Action Krishna Karki, Executive Director of the Inclusive Development and Research Center Bimal Gadal, and Acting Chief of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority Amrit Shrestha.
