Over 13.79 million ballot papers printed for House of Representatives elections



KATHMANDU: A total of 13.79 million ballot papers have been printed for the House of Representatives elections across 110 constituencies in 47 districts, according to the Election Commission.

The Commission said ballot papers have been printed for districts including Dolpa, Mugu, Jumla, Kalikot, Humla, Jajarkot, Dailekh, Rukum West, Salyan, Surkhet, Bajura, Achham, Bajhang, Doti, Dadeldhura, Darchula, Baitadi, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Panchthar, Ilam, Terhathum, Bhojpur, Okhaldhunga, Sunsari, Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha, Solukhumbu, Khotang, Dhankuta, Baglung, Gulmi, Jhapa, Gorkha, Myagdi, Parbat, Bardaghat Susta West (Nawalparasi), Morang, Udayapur, Mustang, Lamjung, Tanahun, Syangja, Bardiya, Rukum East, Dang and Banke.

According to the Election Commission, ballot papers are being printed at a rate of 1.5 million per day.

Meanwhile, 20.83 million ballot papers have already been printed for the proportional representation (PR) electoral system. Under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system, a total of 20.32 million ballot papers are required to be printed.

The Election Commission said ballot printing is progressing as scheduled ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections.
