KATHMANDU: The Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the main opposition party, the Nepali Congress, is underway.
The meeting started a short while ago at the party’s central office in Sanepa under the chairmanship of party President Gagan Thapa.
According to Nepali Congress central member Bijay Bahadur Swar, the meeting will hold detailed discussions on preparations for the party’s upcoming 15th General Convention as well as the latest political developments in the country.
He said the agenda includes discussions on the preparation of regulations and election guidelines for the general convention, updating and distributing active membership, forming a General Convention Preparation Committee, and approving recent CWC decisions.
Swar added that the meeting will also discuss recent developments in the Terai-Madhes region, the government’s performance during its first 100 days, the role of the opposition, provincial government issues, and organizational matters.
In addition, the Nepali Congress central office said the meeting will deliberate on contemporary national political issues and matters related to the statutes of the party’s fraternal organizations.
