KATHMANDU: The Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Balen Shah on Monday has taken four major decisions related to administrative, energy, and institutional matters.
The meeting decided to grant approval for the use of national forest areas for the Lower Arun Hydropower Project, Lower Nyadi Khola Hydropower Project, Ghunsa Khola Hydropower Project, and Tadi Khola Hydropower Project.
With the decision, construction work on these hydropower projects is expected to move forward.
Similarly, the Cabinet approved the Civil Service (Sixteenth Amendment) Regulations, 2083. The revised regulations are expected to make the civil administration more structured and effective.
The government has also decided to form a nine-member ad hoc committee under the leadership of Bishal Kumar Bhandari from Dolakha for managing the leadership of the Nepal Red Cross Society. The committee will oversee the organisation’s regular operations and future management processes.
Likewise, the Cabinet has accepted the report submitted by a committee formed to investigate former Home Minister and House of Representatives member Sudan Gurung. Further decisions will be taken after reviewing the report.
The government stated that the decisions are focused on energy development, administrative reform, institutional management, and issues of public interest.
