KATHMANDU: The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has launched a “Suggestion Collection Portal” to ensure direct public participation in the formulation of next fiscal year’s policies, programmes, and budget.
The digital platform has been introduced with the aim of making governance more transparent and people-oriented by incorporating citizens’ real needs and expectations into the policy and budget-making process. The government is scheduled to unveil its policy and programme on Monday.
Through the portal, Nepali citizens living both inside and outside the country, subject experts, and policymakers will be able to directly submit suggestions to the government regarding budget priorities and development agendas.
According to Deepa Dahal, press and research advisor to Prime Minister Balendra Shah, the initiative reflects the prime minister’s vision of expanding policymaking beyond administrative circles and incorporating public sentiment and expertise.
Dahal said the portal is expected to bridge the gap between citizens and the state while establishing a new practice of good governance. She added that suggestions received through the platform would be seriously reviewed at the administrative level and incorporated into policymaking where appropriate.
The system also includes a special “suggestion tracking” feature, allowing users to monitor the status of their submissions and government responses.
The government has urged all Nepalis to actively participate in the initiative and contribute constructively toward the broader goal of building a prosperous Nepal.
Citizens can access the portal through the official website of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Nepal.
