KATHMANDU: The government has officially released the toll fee structure for commuters using the Nagdhunga Tunnel, following a decision finalized on August 11, 2025. The Ministry published the notice in the Nepal Gazette on Thursday, detailing the specific charges for various categories of vehicles entering and exiting the capital.
According to the newly public rates, light vehicles, including cars, vans, pickups, tractors, and microbuses, will be charged Rs 65 for entry into Kathmandu and Rs 60 for departure. For medium-sized transport such as minibuses and mini-tippers or trucks, the government has set the fee at Rs 115 for entering the valley and Rs 80 for leaving.
Heavier transport and single-rear axle trucks face a higher rate of Rs 260 for inbound travel and Rs 200 for outbound trips.
Meanwhile, heavy equipment and multi-axle trucks will incur the highest charges, set at Rs 600 for entering Kathmandu and Rs 250 for departure. The implementation of these service fees marks a significant step toward the operational sustainability of the nation’s first modern road tunnel project.
