Minister Shrestha instructs NEA to immediately collect electricity dues



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation has instructed the Nepal Electricity Authority to collect unpaid electricity tariff. The electricity tariff arrears has reached Rs 50.1 billion.

The Ministry started necessary efforts after electricity tariff were not collected regularly, as there is still unpaid electricity tariff dues, in relation to those who used power through dedicated and trunk line.

Energy Minister Biraj Bhakta Shrestha directed the NEA to forward the activity to collect electricity tariff arrears keeping in its daily agenda.

Minister Shrestha mentioned that unpaid electricity tariff should be collected from dedicated feeder and truck line users as well as internet service providers, industrial areas, street lights among other sectors.
