HoR meeting taking place today



KATHMANDU: The meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) is being held at 11:00 am today.

The meeting will begin with a general discussion on the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year, including the annual estimate of revenue and expenditure.

There is also a possible agenda for the presentation of various bills. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle will present a proposal seeking to initiate a general discussion on the annual estimate of revenue and expenditure for the fiscal year 2027/27. After this, a general discussion on the budget will begin, followed by the minister’s responses to questions raised during the debate.

Under regular business, Finance Minister Wagle is also scheduled to present several important bills in the House. He will seek permission to table the Appropriation Bill, 2083, and present it in the House.

Similarly, the National Debt Collection Bill, 2083, and the Nepal Rastra Bank (Third Amendment) Bill, 2083, are also on the agenda for presentation.

Bills related to other ministries and proposals concerning international conventions will also be presented in the meeting. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Khadga Raj Adhikari will present a proposal to send the Tourism Bill, 2082, which originated in the National Assembly, to the concerned committee for clause-wise discussion.

Similarly, Minister for Youth, Labour and Employment Ramji Yadav is scheduled to present the International Labour Organization Convention No. 81 on Labour Inspection, 1947, and Protocol No. 29 of 2014 relating to the Forced Labour Convention, 1930, in the House, according to Parliament Secretary General Padma Prasad Pandey.

Separately, meetings of the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee and the Federalism Strengthening and National Concerns Committee under the National Assembly are also scheduled for today.
