KATHMANDU: The Election Commission Nepal has so far announced results from 155 out of the country’s 165 constituencies in the House of Representatives election held on March 5.
According to the latest results, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has emerged as the dominant force, securing victory in 119 constituencies so far. With vote counting still underway in the remaining 10 constituencies, the party is currently leading in six of them.
In the proportional representation vote count, the Rastriya Swatantra Party has crossed 2.1 million votes, reaching 2,148,130 votes so far.
In the 2022 parliamentary election, the party had secured 1,104,245 votes under the proportional representation system.
Meanwhile, the Nepali Congress has secured 734,651 proportional votes so far, placing it second. The party has won 17 seats under the first-past-the-post system.
The CPN-UML has won seven direct seats and is currently leading in three constituencies. In the proportional tally, the UML has secured 625,375 votes, placing it third.
Similarly, the Nepali Communist Party has won seven constituencies and is leading in one more. The party has received 290,937 proportional votes so far.
Meanwhile, the Shram Sanskriti Party led by Harka Sampang has secured three direct seats and received 99,411 votes under the proportional representation system.
