HoR vote counting nears completion; RSP maintains lead

KATHMANDU: The counting of votes for the House of Representatives (HoR) elections has entered its final stage, with results from 147 out of 165 constituencies across Nepal now declared.

The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has secured a clear lead, winning 116 seats and currently leading in an additional 9 constituencies. The party is ahead in Sunsari-2 and Sunsari-4, Mahottari-4, Bardiya-2, Ramechhap, Gorkha-2, Nuwakot, Kailali-2, and Gorkha-1.

The Nepali Congress has won 17 seats so far. However, it is not leading in any of the remaining 18 constituencies where counting is still underway.

The CPN-UML has won 7 seats and is leading in three constituencies: Sankhuwasabha, Ilam-1, and Achham-2.

The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has won 6 seats and is currently ahead in 2 additional constituencies.

The Shram Sanskriti Party has secured 2 seats and is leading in one constituency, Bhojpur.

As counting continues in the final 18 constituencies, the focus remains on which parties will close the gaps and potentially alter the overall distribution of seats in the HoR.
