NRB releases foreign exchange rates for today



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has published Thursday’s foreign currency exchange rates. According to the central bank, the buying rate of one US dollar has been set at Rs 143.52, while the selling rate stands at Rs 144.12.

The buying rate of one European euro has been fixed at Rs 167.77 and the selling rate at Rs 169.48. Similarly, one UK pound sterling is being traded at a buying rate of Rs 193.76 and a selling rate of Rs 194.57, while the Swiss franc has a buying rate of Rs 180.26 and a selling rate of Rs 181.01.

Among other major currencies, the buying rate of one Australian dollar has been set at Rs 96.73 and the selling rate at Rs 97.14. The Canadian dollar is being bought at Rs 103.97 and sold at Rs 104.41, while the Singapore dollar has a buying rate of Rs 112.01 and a selling rate of Rs 112.48.

The buying rate of 10 Japanese yen has been fixed at Rs 9.17 and the selling rate at Rs 9.21. Likewise, the Chinese yuan is being bought at Rs 20.49 and sold at Rs 20.58. The Saudi Arabian riyal has a buying rate of Rs 38.27 and a selling rate of Rs 38.43, while the Qatari riyal is being traded at Rs 39.37 (buying) and Rs 39.54 (selling).

According to the bank, the Thai baht has been fixed at Rs 4.58 for buying and Rs 4.60 for selling. The UAE dirham is being bought at Rs 39.07 and sold at Rs 39.24, while the Malaysian ringgit has a buying rate of Rs 35.37 and a selling rate of Rs 35.52.

The buying and selling rates of 100 South Korean won have been fixed at Rs 9.92 and Rs 9.96, respectively. Similarly, the Swedish krona is being traded at Rs 15.61 (buying) and Rs 15.68 (selling), while the Danish krona has been set at Rs 22.45 for buying and Rs 22.55 for selling.

The central bank has also fixed the buying rate of one Hong Kong dollar at Rs 18.43 and the selling rate at Rs 18.51. The Kuwaiti dinar is being bought at Rs 469.97 and sold at Rs 471.75, while the Bahraini dinar has a buying rate of Rs 380.73 and a selling rate of Rs 382.23.

Similarly, the Omani rial is being traded at Rs 372.79 (buying) and Rs 374.35 (selling). The buying rate of 100 Indian rupees has been set at Rs 160, while the selling rate stands at Rs 160.15.

Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that these exchange rates may be revised at any time as required. It also noted that exchange rates offered by commercial banks may differ, and the updated rates are available on the central bank’s official website.
