Snowfall, rainfall affect daily life in Humla

HUMLA: Normal life has been affected in Humla district following snowfall and rainfall since Tuesday night.

The higher reaches of the district have experienced snowfall, while lower-lying areas have received continuous rainfall.

Snowfall has been reported in mountainous and high-hill areas, including Namkha and Simkot, while lower areas, including Adanchuli and Tajakot, have experienced light rainfall since Tuesday night.

Daily life has been affected by the chilly conditions brought by the rain and snow. Movement has also been disrupted in some areas as roads have become muddy following the continuous rainfall.

Dipak Karki of Sarkegad Rural Municipality-1 said vehicular movement had been disrupted after roads were blocked at several places.

Farmers are also worried that the rainfall could damage their paddy and vegetable crops.

Locals have expressed concern after water levels in streams began to rise. Snowfall has also made it difficult for residents to take their livestock out for grazing.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Shankar Khadka of the District Police Office urged locals to remain alert to possible risks as the district experiences snowfall and rainfall amid sudden changes in weather.
