Prachanda reiterates NCP’s claim to Deputy Speaker post



KATHMANDU: Pushpa Kamal Dahal, coordinator of the NepalI Communist Party (NCP), has said that his party will continue to stake its claim to the post of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Speaking briefly to the media at the party headquarters in Parisdanda before attending a party meeting, Prachanda reaffirmed the party’s position.

“We have a claim to the Deputy Speaker position. However, no concrete development has taken place so far,” he said.

Apart from the NCP, the Nepali Congress, the Sharam Sanskriti Party, and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party have also expressed interest in the post.

Meanwhile, DP Aryal of the Rastriya Swatantra Party has been elected unopposed as Speaker.
