MPs demand regulation of river sand extraction and youth programs



KATHMANDU: Ashika Tamang has urged the government to regulate the extraction of river materials, including sand, from rivers such as the Trishuli.

Speaking during the zero-hour session of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, she raised the demand for organized management of river-based resources.

Meanwhile, MP Indira Ranamagar called for the introduction of new programs to address the increasing involvement of the country’s youth in delinquent activities.

MP Eliza Gurung demanded that restricted areas in places such as Manang and Mustang and other regions be opened and managed locally for better administration and operation.
