Vote counting begins in Sankhuwasabha

KATHMANDU: Vote counting for the House of Representatives election in Nepal has begun in Sankhuwasabha.

According to Chief Election Officer Raj Kumar Koirala, counting started at 1 pm on Saturday at the hall of the District Coordination Committee.

The first round of counting has begun with ballots from Madi Municipality, Sankhuwasabha, Nepal. Although counting was scheduled to begin at 12:15 pm, it started later than planned.

Officials said the delay occurred because ballot boxes from the remote Bhotkhola Rural Municipality, Sankhuwasabha, Nepal, including the Thudam polling center, arrived late.

The district has 165 polling centers, including one temporary center. Ballot boxes from 124 polling centers were transported by road, while the remaining boxes arrived later from remote areas.

Security arrangements, including CCTV cameras and wire mesh barriers, have been installed at the counting venue.
