RSP dominates House election, wins 36 seats and leads in 83 constituencies



KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has emerged as the clear frontrunner in the ongoing House of Representatives election in Nepal, according to the latest results released on Saturday.

So far, the RSP has secured 36 seats and is leading in 83 constituencies.

The Nepali Congress has won six seats and is leading in 10 constituencies, while the CPN-UML has won two seats and is ahead in nine.

Meanwhile, Gagan Kumar Thapa of the Nepali Congress is facing a possible defeat in Sarlahi, while the party’s general secretary Pradip Paudel has already lost in Kathmandu-6.

Several leaders of the UML, including party chair KP Sharma Oli, are also on the verge of defeat, with official confirmation yet to be announced.

The Nepali Communist Party has won two seats and is leading in seven constituencies, while the Shram Sanskriti Party has not secured any seat so far but is ahead in four constituencies.

The Rastriya Prajatantra Party is leading in one constituency, while the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal and the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) have yet to secure a win or lead in any constituency.
