Seven injured in lightning strike in Dhangadhi



SUDURPASCHIM: Seven people were injured in a lightning strike in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-17, Kailali, last night.

According to the District Police Office, Kailali, the incident occurred near the house of local resident Khushilal Chaudhary while the victims were celebrating a birthday on the rooftop.

The injured have been identified as Aarti Chaudhary, 35; Ayusara Chaudhary, 17; Shristi Chaudhary, 13; Bagmati Chaudhary, 55; Sisir Chaudhary, 7; Renuka Chaudhary, 14; and Janaki Chaudhary, 35.

All seven were taken to Seti Provincial Hospital in Dhangadhi for treatment the same night.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Yogendra Timilsina, information officer at the District Police Office, Kailali, said the condition of all those receiving treatment is normal.
