NC President Gagan Thapa expresses grief over Baitadi bus accident claiming 13 lives



BAITADI: Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Kumar Thapa has expressed deep sorrow over the bus accident in Baitadi’s Purchaudi Municipality that claimed 13 lives.

In a condolence statement released today, Thapa said the tragic news has left him heartbroken. He paid heartfelt tribute to the deceased, wished peace for their souls, and extended the party’s and his own condolences to the grieving families.

Thapa also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured and urged the government to ensure proper medical treatment.

The accident occurred on Thursday when a bus carrying a funeral procession, SUP PR 02001 KH 1119, traveling from Bhawane of Purchaudi–7 to Bajhang, met with the crash at Badagaun bend.

Eight people died on the spot, while five others succumbed to injuries at Dadeldhura Hospital. Thirty-four others were injured and are receiving treatment in hospitals in Dadeldhura, Dhangadhi, and Bajhang.
