Home Minister Sudan Gurung directs zero tolerance against corruption

KATHMANDU: Newly appointed Home Minister Sudan Gurung has directed officials to adopt a zero-tolerance policy against corruption.

Speaking at a program held at the ministry after assuming office on Friday, Gurung said service delivery must be made more efficient while strictly enforcing anti-corruption measures. He warned that no one would be spared if found guilty of corruption.

Gurung stated that the government would work seriously in the interest of the country over the next five years and emphasized the need for collective support. He said he had taken charge of the ministry to deliver tangible results to the public and instructed officials to ensure prompt service delivery through a one-door system.

“I will prove through action rather than words,” he said.

He further stressed that no one has the liberty to defy government decisions. Referring to recent political changes, Gurung noted that the transformation was made possible by the sacrifices of Gen-Z youth and said the government would address their demands.
