Congress decides to coordinate with other parties in National Assembly election



LALITPUR: The Nepali Congress has decided to contest the upcoming National Assembly election in coordination and cooperation with other political parties.

The decision was taken by a meeting of the party’s Central Executive Committee held on Tuesday at the BP Smriti Bhawan in Lalitpur. The meeting was chaired by Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka and focused on the National Assembly member election scheduled for 2026.

According to Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel, the meeting resolved to adopt a policy of cooperation and electoral coordination for the National Assembly election to be held on January 25.

During the meeting, General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa and Joint General Secretaries Farmullah Mansur and Jeevan Pariyar presented their respective views.

The next meeting of the Nepali Congress Central Executive Committee has been scheduled for Wednesday morning at 9 am.
