PM Shah draws distinction between national interest and party interests

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Balendra Shah (Balen) has made an apparent reference to differences in political priorities, saying that the responsibility of saving the country should not be confused with that of protecting a political party.

Prime Minister Shah made the remarks in a Facebook post on Thursday night, drawing a distinction between the conduct of political leaders and the responsibilities of those working for the country’s welfare.

“Your cadres fight while your leaders sit back and laugh. Our leaders fight while humanity hopes,” he wrote. “The difference is clear: saving the country is different from saving a political party,” Shah added.
