Beni-Jomsom road closed during nighttime

POKHARA: Nighttime vehicular movement has been suspended on the road section connecting Myagdi headquarters Beni to Jomsom in Mustang.

The restriction has been imposed following a decision of the District Security Committee, under which traffic movement on the road will remain closed until 5:00 am on Thursday.

Vehicular movement was halted after the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority forecast heavy rainfall on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Beni-Jomsom road is part of the Kaligandaki Corridor and serves as an important route for travelers heading from Muktinath to the Korala border crossing.

Chief District Officer Rabindra Acharya said nighttime traffic services had been suspended considering the potential risk of disasters triggered by heavy rainfall.
