KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has carried out an administrative reshuffle, transferring and reassigning 18 joint secretaries, including 12 Chief District Officers (CDOs).
According to the ministry, Joint Secretary Nirajan Ghimire has been appointed Chief District Officer of Syangja, Kuman Singh Gurung as CDO of Kaski, and Laxmi Pandey Gautam as CDO of Dhading.
Similarly, Syangja CDO Ishwori Prasad Aryal has been transferred to Sankhuwasabha, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) CDO Bhawishwar Pandey to Palpa, Surkhet CDO Jagdishwar Upadhyay to Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East), Ramechhap CDO Shyam Krishna Thapa to Saptari, Kaski CDO Rudra Devi Sharma to Dhankuta, and Sankhuwasabha CDO Srijana Thapaliya to the Immigration Office at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.
Likewise, Okhaldhunga CDO Mekh Bahadur Mangrati has been transferred to Udayapur, Saptari CDO Tubaraj Pokharel to Okhaldhunga, Dhading CDO Bijay Raj Subedi to Sarlahi, Palpa CDO Binu Bajracharya to Ramechhap, Udayapur CDO Dharmaraj Joshi to Surkhet, while Sarlahi CDO Ramuraj Kadariya has been transferred to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Ministry spokesperson and Joint Secretary Ananda Kafle said the reshuffle is part of a regular administrative process. He said joint secretaries within the ministry and its subordinate agencies have been assigned new responsibilities, while vacant district posts have been filled in line with a Cabinet decision.
The ministry has also posted Joint Secretary Balaram Niraula as chief of the Immigration Office at Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa. Similarly, Joint Secretary Pradeep Kumar Koirala has been assigned to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, while Joint Secretary Krishna Poudel has been posted to the Department of National ID and Civil Registration.
