Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal leaves for India on official visit



KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Shisir Khanal has left for India on an official visit at the invitation of his Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar.

Minister Khanal left for New Delhi on Friday morning to attend high-level talks during the visit.

Speaking briefly before his departure, Khanal said that this is the first high-level visit since the formation of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)-led government, adding that discussions would focus on issues of national priority.

He expressed confidence that the visit would help advance bilateral relations and address key areas of mutual interest between Nepal and India.

Further details of the meetings and agenda are expected to be shared after the conclusion of the visit.
