UML’s Lila Bhandari to become National Assembly vice chair

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML lawmaker Lila Bhandari has been agreed upon to assume the post of National Assembly (NA) Vice Chair.

The decision was made as part of an inter-party agreement to allocate the vice chair to the UML, while the chair remains with Narayan Dahal of the Nepali Communist Party. The post had been vacant since the term of former Vice Chair Urmila Aryal ended.

UML parliamentary party leader Prem Dangal said that, under the agreement, the Nepali Congress would receive two committee chair positions, the UML would take the vice chair, the Nepali Communist Party would get one chair, and the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) would be allotted one chair.
