PM meets RSP lawmakers from Sudurpashchim, discusses regional development priorities



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balendra Shah held a meeting with Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmakers representing Sudurpashchim Province at Singha Durbar on Tuesday, where they discussed governance, regional development and local concerns.

During the meeting, the lawmakers expressed their commitment to informing the public through Parliament about the government’s efforts to promote good governance.

Lawmaker Janak Singh Dhami said the delegation also drew the prime minister’s attention to various development projects and local issues affecting their respective constituencies. They also briefed him on the challenges, political situation and development potential of Sudurpashchim Province.

RSP lawmaker KP Khanal said discussions focused on the operation of Geta University, the management of stray cattle in the Terai districts of Kailali and Kanchanpur, the Dhangadhi–Khutiya–Dipayal Fast Track, rural electrification, measures to reduce road accidents, and the construction of river embankments.

The lawmakers also raised issues related to customs administration, victims affected by protected areas, the Hulaki Highway, paddy procurement and marketing for farmers, and river erosion in the Dodhara-Chandani area.

The meeting was attended by lawmakers Tara Prasad Joshi, Khem Raj Koirala, Hari Mohan Bhandari, Janak Singh Dhami, Komal Gyawali, Gyanendra Mahata, Jagat Joshi and KP Khanal, among others.
