House of Representatives meeting taking place today



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) under the Federal Parliament is taking place today at 1:00 pm.

In today’s meeting, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam is scheduled to present the Sixth Annual Report of the Indigenous Nationalities Commission for the fiscal year 2081/82 on behalf of Prime Minister Balendra Shah.

The House will also discuss an urgent public importance proposal registered by Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe.

Angdembe is set to present a proposal stating that the government must identify genuine landless people, squatters, and unorganized settlers, make necessary arrangements for their protection and rehabilitation, ensure proper compensation and permanent resettlement, and distribute land ownership certificates to genuine landless and squatter families as soon as possible.

The proposal has been supported by lawmakers Ain Bahadur Mahar, Yubaraj Dulal, and Aren Rai.
