Tulsa Adhikari sent to judicial custody in money laundering case

LALITPUR: Social media personality popularly known as “Tulsa Collection” Tulsa Adhikari has been sent to jail for judicial custody.

The Patan District Court on Thursday ordered that Adhikari be remanded in custody for trial proceedings.

The order was issued by a bench of Judge Tek Nath Gautam during the hearing of a money laundering (asset concealment) case filed by the District Government Attorney’s Office against Adhikari and nine others.

The case was registered following a complaint lodged by Kumar Chimariya. Along with TikToker Adhikari, Ashok Kumar Agrawal is also among the 10 defendants in the case.

They have been charged with criminal offences including extortion, organized crime, and money laundering.

According to the prosecution, the accused are alleged to have been involved in transferring and receiving money through hundi channels, concealing the illegal source of funds, and engaging in conversion and laundering of proceeds obtained from criminal activities.

Authorities argue that such activities were aimed at disguising the origin of illicit wealth through systematic financial transactions.

The case will now proceed under judicial custody as further legal hearings continue at the district court.
