Earthquake jolts Udayapur district



KATHMANDU: An earthquake struck last night with its epicentre near Bagpati in Udayapur district.

According to the National Seismology and Research Center, Lainchaur, the earthquake measured 4.3 on the Richter scale and occurred at 10:51 pm.

Earlier, on Saturday morning, an earthquake of magnitude 4.6 was recorded near the border area of Taplejung and Panchthar districts.

Seismologists note that as Nepal lies in the Himalayan seismic zone, the country remains at constant risk of both minor and major earthquakes.
