KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose marginally by 4.66 points on Thursday to close at 2,542.77 points.
According to the Nepal Stock Exchange, the sensitive index, which tracks the performance of large companies, increased by 0.31 points to 449.50. The float index also rose by 0.15 points to 174.35, while the sensitive float index gained 0.12 points to 151.73.
A total of 12.263 million shares of various companies were traded in 87,000 transactions, with the total turnover reaching Rs 3.465 billion.
Of the 13 subgroups, nine recorded gains while four declined. Shares of 145 companies advanced, while 123 companies declined and 10 remained unchanged.
According to NEPSE, investors in Win Nepal Microfinance Bank, Chirkhwa Hydropower Company and Asha Microfinance Company recorded gains. Meanwhile, shares of Aaj Pure Energy, Atmanirbhar Microfinance Company and Rock Central Finance Company declined.
