RSP Chair Lamichhane to meet Indian PM Modi today



KATHMANDU: President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, who is currently on a visit to India, is scheduled to meet Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi today (Wednesday).

During the visit, Lamichhane held important political and diplomatic discussions with senior leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at its central office in New Delhi on Tuesday. He held bilateral meetings with BJP National President Nitin Naveen, General Secretary Arun Singh, Foreign Department Chief Dr Vijay Chauthaiwale, and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Kapoor.

Similarly, President Lamichhane also met Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Home Minister Amit Shah separately. The RSP stated that the discussions focused on Nepal-India relations, mutual interests, democratic practices, security cooperation, and inter-party dialogue between the two countries.

The main objective of the visit is to further strengthen the historical, cultural, and people-to-people relations between Nepal and India, and to broaden dialogue on democratic values.

According to the RSP, the meetings also included exchanges on organizational strengthening, grassroots engagement, development-oriented governance, and the leadership role of the younger generation in contemporary politics.

The visiting delegation includes Lamichhane, Joint General Secretary of the RSP Bipin Kumar Acharya, and Secretariat member Deepak Bohara.
