Harka Sampang reaches Home Ministry with development agenda

KATHMANDU: Harka Sampang, chair of the Shram Sanskriti Party and newly elected member of the House of Representatives of Nepal from Sunsari Constituency–1, has reached Singha Durbar with a development agenda.

Sampang is scheduled to meet several departmental ministers on Friday, including Home Minister Sudan Gurung.

Soon after the first meeting of the House of Representatives concluded on Thursday, Sampang said through social media that he would now begin meeting the prime minister and ministers with development demands from the public.

In a Facebook post, he wrote, “Yesterday the first formal and official meeting of the House was completed. Thanks to the Government of Nepal and everyone involved. Now I will meet the prime minister and concerned ministers with the development demands of the people.”

According to his schedule, Sampang is set to meet Gurung at around 11:45 am.

During the first meeting of the House, Sampang had raised several contemporary and national issues. Among them, he called for increased monitoring of activities by neighboring countries along border areas and demanded the formation of a high-level investigation committee to probe the incidents that occurred on September 8 and 9, 2025.

During his meetings at Singha Durbar, Sampang is also expected to draw the ministers’ attention to development plans in his constituency and the issues he raised in parliament.
