All-party meeting taking place today ahead of parliamentary session



KATHMANDU: An all-party meeting has been called for today (Wednesday) by the Federal Parliament Secretariat in preparation for the upcoming parliamentary session on April 2 (tomorrow).

According to Parliament Secretariat spokesperson Ekram Giri, the meeting will begin at 1:00 p.m., with invitations extended to all political parties represented in Parliament.

President Ram Chandra Paudel has convened a joint session of the Federal Parliament at 2:00 p.m. on April 2, following a recommendation from the Council of Ministers made on March 30.

This will be the first parliamentary session since the 2026 House of Representatives (HoR) elections. The meeting is expected to focus on key proceedings, including the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker.

The House of Representatives currently includes six political parties recognized at the national level.
