RSP to intensify anti-corruption protests in parliament and on the streets

BHAIRAHAWA: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has pledged to step up its campaign against corruption, vowing to take its protest both to the streets and the parliament.

The decision came during the party’s parliamentary group meeting held in Bhairahawa on Wednesday. The meeting, attended by 15 lawmakers including acting chair DP Aryal, reviewed the ongoing parliamentary session, the federal civil service bill’s cooling-off period, and the functioning of key constitutional bodies.

Speaking to reporters, party chief whip Santosh Pariyar said the RSP is deeply concerned about growing executive interference in the legislative process. “From issues around the cooling-off period to corruption hidden under the guise of Visit Visas, we have been raising these concerns consistently in parliament,” said Pariyar.

The party also discussed tourism-related challenges in the Lumbini region. Pariyar said the RSP is committed to voicing the concerns of tourism entrepreneurs and will continue to advocate for the full operation of the Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa.

“The agitation is set to grow wider in scope,” Pariyar said, emphasizing that the RSP’s fight against corruption will not be limited to the parliamentary floor. “We will protest both in the House and on the streets.”
