House informed about arrest of RPP MP Dhawal Shamsher Rana

KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives has been formally informed about the arrest of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Dhawal Shamsher Rana on charges of a crime against the state.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire, addressing the House on Monday, stated that a letter from the District Police Complex confirmed Jabra’s arrest from Satdobato.

He has been detained, and further investigations are underway. The information was shared in accordance with Sub-rule 1 of Rule 48 of the House of Representatives Rules, 2023.

In a separate notice, Speaker Ghimire also informed the House that Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, Damodar Bhandari, has traveled to Malta to participate in the 16th NRNA Regional Conference.

In his absence, the Prime Minister’s Office has assigned Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation, Balram Adhikari, to oversee the ministry’s responsibilities.
