Eight gamblers, including people’s representative, arrested



CHITWAN: Eight individuals, including a people’s representative, have been arrested in Chitwan for gambling. They were apprehended while gambling at Lal Chowk in Kalika Municipality-6 in the district.

Police arrested Sundarmani Subedi, Chairman of Ratnanagar Municipality-12, including others.

According to Subash Bhatta, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Area Police Office, Ratnanagar (Tandi), the other arrested individuals are Thakur Prasad Bhatta, 60, Jhalak Amgain, 56, Santosh Lama, 54, Mohan Dangal, 66, Ram Kumar Dangal, 55, Ash Bahadur Gurung, 49, and Shiva Bahadur Amgain, 48.

Police recovered playing cards and Rs 71,210 in cash from them. An investigation has been initiated under the Gambling Act. The arrests were made on Saturday evening.
