UML in Bagmati awaits Congress’ official decision on provincial government

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML, a coalition partner in Bagmati Province, has decided to move forward based on the institutional decision of the Nepali Congress regarding the provincial government.

A meeting of the UML’s Bagmati Province Parliamentary Party held on Wednesday concluded that it would support whichever side is endorsed by the Congress leadership.

“We won’t follow any individual or rumors. We will proceed according to the institutional decision made by the Congress,” said UML provincial assembly member Keshav Prasad Pokharel in a statement to Khabarhub.

He added that the Congress should resolve its internal disputes, which are causing instability in the provincial assembly. “The internal conflict in the Congress has led to instability in the assembly. This needs to be resolved immediately,” Pokharel said.

UML has also emphasized the need to improve the functioning of the provincial government. “Questions have been raised about the provincial government. Budget implementation is weak, and the government’s overall performance is lacking,” Pokharel stated, stressing the need for reforms moving forward.
