One killed, six injured in Doti jeep accident



DOTI: One person was killed and six others were injured in a jeep accident in Doti district.

The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Harka Bahadur Negi. The accident occurred when a jeep (SuPra 02001 Ja 0567), en route from Dhangadhi to Purchaudi in Baitadi, veered off the road along the Bhimdatta Highway near Melkhola, Jorayal Rural Municipality-2, according to District Police Office Chief Binod Sharma.

Negi, who sustained serious injuries in the crash, was rushed to Maya Metro Hospital in Dhangadhi for treatment but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The injured have been identified as 27-year-old Dhirendra Negi, 53-year-old Jagdish Joshi, 65-year-old Ram Bahadur Negi, 28-year-old Dhana Negi, Bir Bahadur Negi, and 24-year-old driver Bam, a resident of Dilasaini Rural Municipality-4, Baitadi.

Among them, Dhana Negi and the driver are reported to be in critical condition. All injured are currently receiving treatment at Seti Provincial Hospital.
