Dashain rush: Heavy traffic at Valley exit points

KATHMANDU: On the seventh day of Bada Dashain, as Fulpati is ceremonially brought into homes, a massive outflow of people from the Kathmandu Valley is underway ahead of Bijaya Dashami.

Major departure points—including Gongabu Bus Park, Kalanki, Koteshwor, and Jadibuti—are witnessing heavy crowds as people return to their hometowns to celebrate the festival with family.

Due to the increased movement of vehicles leaving the valley, traffic congestion has built up along the Koteshwor–Bhaktapur stretch, with a queue of vehicles extending as far as Radhe Radhe since early morning.
