Sankhuwasabha gets first female Chief District Officer



SANKHUWASABHA: Joint Secretary Sirjana Thapaliya has taken charge as the Chief District Officer (CDO) of Sankhuwasabha, becoming the first woman in the district’s history to hold the post.

Previously serving at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar, Thapaliya now becomes the 48th CDO of Sankhuwasabha.

Speaking to journalists after assuming office, Thapaliya said she would draw on her experience in civil service to work for the development and betterment of the district.

“I will carry out my responsibilities in coordination with political parties, intellectuals, and civil society within the framework of existing laws and regulations,” she stated.
