Doctors and equipment from security agencies to be mobilized to control cholera in Birgunj: PM Oli



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli has stated that doctors and medical equipment from all four security agencies, including the Nepal Army, will be mobilized in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Population to prevent and control the cholera outbreak in Birgunj, Parsa.

Addressing a meeting of the House of Representatives today, Prime Minister Oli expressed confidence that the outbreak will soon be brought under control following decisions made during today’s Cabinet meeting.

Expressing sorrow over the deaths of three people due to the epidemic, he said the government is taking all necessary measures to control the disease and is currently investigating its source.

The Prime Minister informed the House that arrangements have been made to treat patients and raise public awareness. He added that free treatment is being provided at Narayani Hospital, and that private hospitals are also offering treatment for cholera patients.
