Police arrest 23 in drug-related cases within 24 hours



KATHMANDU: As many as 23 individuals have been arrested with illegal drugs from various parts of the country in the last 24 hours, according to the Central Police Newsroom.

Arrests were made in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Jhapa, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Saptari, Kaski, Syangja, Sunsari, and Makawanpur districts.

Two individuals were arrested with a substance resembling brown heroin from Attarkhel, Gokarneshwor Municipality-8, Kathmandu.

Two others were arrested with a substance suspected to be brown sugar from Mechipul, Bhadrapur Municipality-5, Jhapa, and another two from Nakaiya, Belauri Municipality-6, Kanchanpur.

Additionally, two people were arrested from Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-2, Kailali, and two more from Khutiya Tole, Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-14.

Police also reported that 27-year-old Ram Kumar Sah, a resident of Kathauna, Shambhunath Municipality-6, Saptari, was arrested with 2 kg and 25 grams of marijuana.

Two individuals were arrested from Imadol, Mahalaxmi Municipality-1, Lalitpur; one from Baglung Bus Park, Pokhara Metropolitan City-2; and one from Ramdi, Galyang Municipality-1, Syangja, all in possession of narcotics.

Furthermore, seven people were arrested from Kirat Chowk, Barahachhetra Municipality-7, Sunsari, and one person from Adamar, Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-13, Makawanpur, the bulletin added.
