Schools in Mahottari closed due to extreme cold

MAHOTTARI: All 15 local levels in Mahottari district have announced school closures in response to extreme cold. Continuous cold winds, cold waves, thick fog, and mist have disrupted normal life, prompting authorities to declare temporary school holidays.

The local levels have announced two to three days of holidays, which will be deducted from the monsoon break. In a press release, officials stated that students have been particularly affected by the severe cold, leading to the closure of schools within the city.

A cold wave accompanied by strong winds has been sweeping across the Terai-Madhes region over the past few days, affecting children and the elderly the most.
