Prachanda appeals to leftists to unite under one banner

KATHMANDU: Maoist Center Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has called on all leftist forces in the country, including the Maoists, to unite under a single communist party banner.

In a statement issued Tuesday morning, he emphasized that organizational cohesion among patriotic, progressive, and leftist forces, as well as national cooperation among democratic groups, is essential to addressing the challenges facing national independence and democracy.

“We have a historic responsibility to tackle the complexities and challenges confronting the country today, fulfill the expectations of the people, and safeguard national independence and democracy,” Prachanda said.

“It is crucial for the Maoists and other leftist forces to move forward through unity and a common movement to lay the foundation for national independence, defend the federal democratic republic, and advance socialism.”

He added, “With this understanding, I sincerely appeal to all Maoist factions and leftist groups in the country to unite under the single flag of the communist party.”

Prachanda also urged all democratic forces to come together in a common front for national unity, aimed at fostering advanced democracy and national independence while upholding the Constitution.
