Relief amount provided to families of deceased in Gen-Z Protests



DHARAN: The relief amount was given to the families of two people who died during the Gen-Z protests taken place on September 8 and 9.

The funds, released by the federal government, were handed over to the families of 23-year-old Abhishek Shrestha and Mohan Sardar, who were shot dead in the protests in front of the Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City Office, Sunsari.

According to the decision of the Council of Ministers, a total of Rs 1.5 million each was provided to families of the deceased, said Chief District Officer Dharmendra Kumar Mishra. The amount was received from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

CDO Mishra informed that an additional one hundred thousand rupees was received at the District Administration Office from the Koshi Provincial Government for performing funeral rites.
