RSP to continue House obstruction even during PM Oli’s address

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has decided to continue obstructing proceedings in the House of Representatives, including during Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s scheduled address on Saturday.

The decision was taken during the party’s parliamentary party meeting held earlier in the day. Speaking to reporters afterward, MP Hari Dhakal confirmed the obstruction would persist.

“The House will remain obstructed. Our protest is ongoing. We have not accepted the face-saving committee,” he said, referring to the government’s decision to form an investigation panel over the visit visa controversy.

RSP has been demanding the formation of a high-level investigation committee into the scandal, which has implicated senior officials including the Home Minister.

When asked whether the party would at least allow the Prime Minister to speak, Dhakal responded, “Yes, the Prime Minister will speak. But our protest will happen alongside.”
