Third edition of Rock Climbing Festival from May 3



DOLAKHA: The third edition of the annual rock climbing festival is going to be held in Sokla valley of Bhimeshwor Municipality-2 from coming May 3 to 4.

The two-day festival is going to be organized with the aim of promoting Sokla Valley as a hub for adventure rock climbing, said Chair of Sokla Tourism Development Society, Arjun Pakhrin.

Financial support is being received from the Nepal Tourism Board for the festival to be held in collaboration of various local levels.

The rock climbing is to be held on the cliffs of Sokla and Chakpa. Located eight kilometers from the district headquarters, Charikot, Sokla village is also famous for agro-tourism, ecotourism, adventure tourism, bird ecotourism, viewing the Gaurishankar mountain range, and for religious study and research.

The Mountain Guide Association of Nepal is providing technical input for the festival.
