KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak expressed confidence that the House would approve the ordinance issued by the government.
Speaking at the inauguration of the 8th National Convention of the N-PABSON in Kathmandu on Friday, Lekhak attributed the delay in replacing the ordinance to technical and procedural reasons. He assured that the ordinance would be moved forward on time and accepted by the House.
Lekhak explained that the ordinance was introduced to ensure good governance and revitalize the economy. He stressed that the current political coalition was formed not merely to appoint leaders as Prime Minister and ministers but to establish sustainable peace, good governance, and prosperity in Nepal.
Regarding education, Lekhak confirmed that the education bill would be passed on schedule and that legal and policy reforms in the sector would be implemented. He also stated that the presence of private or residential schools would not compromise the quality of public or community schools.
The Home Minister pledged to expedite the legislative process, addressing delays in moving bills forward in the federal parliament.
