Adverse weather disrupts domestic and international flights

KATHMANDU: Air services have been significantly impacted at Tribhuvan International Airport due to adverse weather conditions, leading to poor visibility and flight disruptions. Several international and domestic flights have been affected.

According to Rinji Sherpa, a spokesperson for the Tribhuvan International Airport Office, Qatar Airways flight QR652, traveling from Doha to Kathmandu, was diverted to Kolkata due to the weather conditions. Additionally, flights from Nepal Airlines and Air China, which were coming from Malaysia, were also redirected.

Sichuan Airlines flights were completely canceled due to the adverse weather, further contributing to the flight disruptions.

Domestic flights have not been spared, with services including Kathmandu-Pokhara, Kathmandu-Bharatpur, Kathmandu-Nepalgunj, Kathmandu-Rajbiraj, Kathmandu-Biratnagar, Kathmandu-Janakpur, Kathmandu-Bhadrapur, and Kathmandu-Bhairahawa being either canceled or significantly delayed.

However, the spokesperson confirmed that flights resumed operating normally in the afternoon after the weather conditions improved.

Passengers are advised to check with airlines for the latest updates regarding flight schedules.
