KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced power cuts in several areas of Kathmandu today.

According to a notice issued by the Authority, electricity will be disrupted in the Lazimpat, Panipokhari, and Baluwatar areas, which are served by the Lazimpat feeder under the Maharajgunj Distribution Center.

The scheduled outage will take place from 10 AM to 3 PM today.

The NEA has stated that the power cut is necessary for testing and charging the underground transmission line in these areas.

The Authority also mentioned that if the work is completed ahead of schedule, electricity will be restored earlier than planned.
